Hello
Welcome to my website. I'm Ralph Jackson, an independent consultant with a background in communication, reputation and crisis management, and public policy. Below and on pages on this site you can find out more about me, the services I can offer, and the experience I have. While independent I also work with others with additional skills where required right across the marketing mix.
My Story
I am a communication specialist with crisis management and public policy advice and insight at the heart of my career and expertise. I graduated in Politics, and became a trained teacher after completing a PGCE. I first entered the world of communication for business working for the small business body, the FSB, ultimately becoming head of policy and public affairs. Subsequently over a career spanning four decades I have continued to advise businesses in the UK and internationally in house and in consultancy, including WPP and latterly Lansons Team Farner. I also set up and ran The Jackson Consultancy for a decade which I folded into Lansons in 2006. In my own consultancy, and at Lansons I worked on many of the assignments myself and with colleagues set out in my new book - ‘Crisis? What crisis’? (see Content page for further information, and to view the launch video for the book).
My experience as a crisis consultant spans many countries, decades and sectors. The latter has included pharma, chemicals, retail, finance, and transport. I have also been brought in by law firms to assist with client issues including high profile public figures.
I have both written and spoken on managing issues and crises, and when with Lansons served on the EMEA group for crisis management for the international independent agency grouping, PROI. My services now embrace reputation and crisis preparedness advice or handling, as well as those requiring insights for approaches to Governments and public policy understanding.
I like a good challenge, tricky or complex issues, and above all transparency with clients where I can achieve a satisfactory outcome for them. If that sounds what you would like to hear more of, then please get in touch.
